Dear Julia:

It's Sunday 1 and I am finished my lunch, so I am finally writing you the 2 I promised. I am well and am making new friends in my English class at Bow Valley College. My teacher is very funny and I like him a lot. I met a woman from Korea. Her name is Suyeon. She is very nice and very quiet. Yesterday I helped her find a new apartment.

On Friday we looked in the newspaper for apartments for rent that were close to 3 because Suyeon doesn't have a car. We found 2 apartments that Suyeon wanted to see. One apartment was only 2 4 away. The other was 5 blocks away.

I phoned at lunchtime for an 5 to see them on Saturday. Suyeon and I made plans to 6 in front of Bow Valley College yesterday morning at 9:00 because we wanted to walk to the first apartment to see how long it would take. Our appointment was at 10:00. We got there at 9:40. The landlord was working in the garden, so she took us upstairs to see the apartment. It was on the 2nd floor.

The apartment was very nice. I had one bedroom with a big walk-in closet. The living room was large and sunny and there was a big glass 7 that opened onto a balcony. The view was wonderful! You could see the Calgary Tower and Olympic plaza. Everything was so new and the walls had fresh paint. There was a fridge, a stove and a dishwasher. The dining room had a big window with a big tree outside. The laundry room was in the basement. There were 3 8 and 3 dryers. There was also a big storeroom where people could keep their bicycles or sports equipment.

I asked the landlord about the cost. She said that the rent was $450 a month and there was a $450 damage deposit. That included utilities and cable TV, but not the telephone. No pets are allowed in the 9. Suyeon liked the apartment so much she decided to take it. I used the landlord's cell phone to cancel the other appointment at 12:00. Suyeon was very excited because she can move in right away. I'm going to help her next 10. She promised to cook Korean food for me as soon as she moves in.

Well I have to go now. I must do my homework for tomorrow.

Adios

Carmen
